Organic Dyeing

Paint Box Textiles have been certified by the Soil Association to dye in compliance with GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)

The Soil Association is a UK based charity that has been promoting a better and more sustainable way of living. This approach is based on the concept that we are all connected and that real solutions have to start from the ground up.

Goods that we have dyed can be GOTS Certified if all of the following conditions apply:

• The goods for dyeing are received with a GOTS Certificate issued by a company with valid GOTS registration
• We complete all processes in compliance with the Standards specified by GOTS
• Only dyes and chemicals that have been assessed and approved for GOTS use are used. To be approved dyes and chemicals must have minimal environmental impact in their production and use.
• Records are maintained for receipt of the goods, all processes together with all dye stuffs and chemicals used.

A requirement of GOTS is that to maintain registration we are independently audited to ensure we are operating in full compliance with the standard. This annual inspection takes two full days and is carried out by an experienced assessor.
